สำหรับเอาไว้อัพโหลดไฟล์ขึ้นสู่อินเทอร์เน็ตจำนวนมากๆ โดยแต่ก่อนนั้นจะนิยมใช้กันเฉพาะกลุ่มคนทำเว็บ (webmaster) แต่ในปัจจุบันการโอนถ่ายไฟล์ออนไลน์มีความจำเป็นมากขึ้น เยอะขึ้น และใหญ่ขึ้นมาก จึงนิยมเป็นที่แพร่หลายแม้แต่ home user เองก็ใช้กัน เช่น การอัพโหลดภาพส่วนขึ้นสู่แกลอรี่ภาพ (กรณีมี server เป็นของตนเอง) อัพไฟร์ .html ขึ้นสู่เว็บส่วนตัวหรือบล็อก แต่ที่บูมสุดๆ คืออัพไฟล์-โหลดไฟล์ ขึ้นสู่ colo เพื่อจะได้ปล่อยให้โหลดไฟล์ได้ตลอดเวลาโดยที่เราไม่ต้องเปิดคอมพ์เอาไว้ให้ colo ปล่อยไฟล์ Bittorrent แทน (หวังค่าเรโชว์เยอะๆ อิอิ) ซึ่งการจะเอาไฟล์ใหญ่ๆ ขึ้นสู่อินเทอร์เน็ตนั้นก็อาศัยโปรแกรม FTP หรือโปรแกรม FileZilla นี่เองครับ
